Voice of Godiva – Wed 9th Feb 2022

Meeting Number 189 - A Life Worth Living

Trouble on the M6 meant that Tim and I were late coming in, with a bouncing Sophie interrupting the start of proceedings.

Michelle, ever the professional, took it all in her stride as she opened the meeting with an inspiring introduction to the evening’s theme ‘A Life Worth Living’.

Our President, Nishanth is planning his succession by encouraging his committee members to be President for the night.

Tonight was Michelle (our Vice President of Membership) turn.

She did an incredible job of welcoming a record 11 guests in tonight’s meeting.

From the outset, the energy was high.  Sanat, as our Toastmaster for the Evening, explained the Toastmaster etiquette and rituals while inspiring everyone in the room.

Yayra joined us on line as a cracking Timer.

Amy, our Grammarian, gave us ‘Gratitude’ as the word of the day.

We had four prepared speeches:

? Robin shared some information about his passions in his icebreaker

? I delivered my speech on The Empowerment Portal, a new innovative way of engaging employees

? Fiona took the virtual stage giving us 12 Steps to a Brilliant Blog

? Tim gave us a beautiful description of a Bosherston Egg!

Specific and helpful evaluations were given by Mohamed, Nishanth, Emil and Bence.

The break was full of laughter, chat and biscuits!

Pratik then took to the stage as Table Topic Master, with a pile of books!
